Chicago loses two of it's finest/apartment for rent

You heard it here first! We are cutting our lease a month short, so if you know anyone who is looking for a 2 bedroom about 1300 sqft in a GREAT neighborhood, two car garage, washer dryer, fenced in yard for $1400 a month let me know and I'll pass the info along to the landlord!

a BIG weekend!

AND it's not over! It started Saturday with my wedding shower! It was a really nice afternoon with friends and family AND some yummy food. Thaks Mom and Mel! It was a lot of fun and a nice relaxing part of the wedding process. Sunday it was back to work again, on planning that is. Mike and I spent a few hours at the Abbey finalizing our table arrangements and all the many, many details you would never think of including a timeline for the day. We also spent about an hour outside picking the perfect spot the our ceremony to take place :) We found an area that is partially shaded, so you can thank us later!

Today I had another dress fitting which went great and then we were off to the florist, just finalizing all the last minute details. Tomorrow we will be getting are marriage license and heading back to Chicago... PHEW!!!

Super Blogger this weekend

Yesterday ended up being a fantastic day! Mike and I drove up to Iowa to get a few things done. We spent about 5 hours there and accomplished so much! First, I tried on my actual wedding dress for the first time. I absolutely LOVE it! Nevermind the fact that I need to lose about 5 pounds and it's 2 inches too short... they swear to me they can fix it.. so all I can do is cross my fingers. And, as luck would have it, I found the most perfect shoes to go with my dress. The shoes literally look like they were made to go with the dress. My #1 find!! I LOVE it all! YAY!

Next, we went to a different tux place..Mike has already selected everything from Duckys but we weren't huge fans of the shirt they offer with their tuxes. After calling around and visiting another tux place, we decided to stick with the original place, we couldn't find anything we liked more.

Next stop, hair and makeup for me! My first pick of salons can only get me and my girlies in at 10am the morning of the wedding. That's a little early for a 4:00 wedding. William Wesley can get us in at noon. So, that being said, I tested the waters with them and loved both my hair and makeup!! That is a HUGE check mark "done" on the list!! I'm so relieved!

With all our accomplishments this weekend, Mike and I are both excited again! We were a little overwhelmed for a while!

Now, off to the gym!

they say a diamond is forever...

but the same doesn't go for the setting! my engagment ring spent the past week at the jeweler being modified a bit... the design was very unique and cool, but as mike and i have learned... there is a reason you don't see many two prong engagement rings out there. to make a long story short, the ring was not repairable.

luckily, we were able to find a nice sturdy 4 prong band that both of us liked :) and i was able to pick out mike's ring.

o, and no wedding band for me yet... not sure i need ALL the bling that comes with it's match ;)
